Even before I knew a whole lot about liturgical living, Advent was one of my favorite times of year to be Catholic. I love the music, the signs and symbols, and the beautiful scripture readings that we experience throughout this short season leading up to Christmas. And this year, because of the fact that Christmas falls on a Friday, we get almost four complete weeks of Advent. I am super stoked.
To get ready for this great season, I wanted to reshare some resources I’ve posted before, and then in the next week I will highlight some new and exciting resources I plan to use this year, both at home and in school.

For some great music to get you in the festive Advent spirit without jumping straight to Christmas, checkout 10 (ish) great songs for Advent. I hadn’t listened to it before last year, but Matt Maher’s album The Advent of Christmas * is wonderful too. There’s even a book * that goes along with the album.
